Started an online literary journal for flash stories with colleagues from college. Created Flashtober, a month-long writing event to that provided daily writing prompts through social media. Read through various submissions.

July 2018 – September 2018


Created profiles for artists in-resident for the second half of 2018. In charge of social media posting to keep viewers update to-date on what’s happening at the residency. Organized and created a more efficient welcome packet for residents. On-call for residents to make sure their stay is comfortable and stress-free.

In charge of creative nonfiction acquisitions for literary magazine. Consulted other co-editors on quality, style, and voice of pieces to ensure the fit for online magazine Hair Trigger 2.0.

Responsible for copyediting and proofreading Hair Trigger. Worked with team of 11 to decide the order of 40th anniversary edition of award winning student anthology.

Held consultations with students to edit and find markets for their work. Worked with co-editors to acquire and edit submissions for The Lab Review, an online literary magazine. Wrote monthly blog posts for website.

Was secretary when the club first started back. Worked up to president of a Columbia College student organization for genre writing.
Activities include planning the “So You Want to Be an Author” event in conjunction with the Chicago Book Expo, a professional development seminar for writers. Duties included outreach to potential sponsors and publishing houses. Estimated attendance 50+ for each of five panels.
